| The basic enclosure
is rated by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA),
to be environmentally sealed to a 4X rating. It is also listed by
UL and CSA. A well designed silicone gasket seal prevents moisture
from entering once the front cover is closed by two screws. A sturdy
stainless steel latch with a locking hasp is optional.

Labyrinth-type vents are mounted for moderate climates. For hot climates,
a fan with screened louvers is added. The enclosure is then moisture
resistant, but no longer completely sealed. A louver is mounted on
the fan side of the enclosure and a mesh screen is added to minimize insect
entry. A labyrinth type vent is attached to the opposite side for
optimum airflow and to minimize water entry.
The optional Thermal Control
Module varies fan speed depending on heat load for maximum fan and equipment
life and also senses faults like a jammed fan and over temperature conditions.
It will shut off the power to the equipment and turn on a fault indicator
light. Once the temperature is within range, it will automatically
reset. |
